Hot off the press comes the Fall 2011 Eyewear Trends published by our industry's style gurus at The Eyecessorize Blog. As we ourselves predicited and continue to preach the eye fashion gospel to you, retro and vintage-inspired looks are all the rage!

We have included our own brand suggestions around these hottest trends:

Baroque Beauty

Opulence is golden this fall as runways gleamed with decadent accessories, eyewear being no exception. Extravagant temple bar designs, rhinestones, crystals and intricate embellishments pay tribute to sumptuous Baroque fashion. Cat-eyes - a must-have in kitschy, classic or updated styles - show off ladylike style in bold berry hues. Gold accents on black frames create a statement-making combo.

These beautiful frames are paired best with a romantic Victorian style high-neck blouse and pencil skirt or an embroidered sheath and updated fur jacket.

Graphically Devoted

Bold ‘80s influences inject life into the traditional subdued neutrals of fall. Wild patterned frames (think polka dots, lace, plaid and more) ignite the creativity and passion for individual style that ruled the fashion world at that time. Honey brown hues, abstract tortoise patterns and colored lenses play up the vintage vibe of this tantalizing trend.

Play into the Mod-ness of the swinging ‘60s by pairing these charming frames with a boxy, above-the-knee skirt suit or slip into a slinky ‘70s inspired jumpsuit.

Refined Gentleman

Retro influences continue to steal the spotlight in eyewear. However, these familiar silhouettes have been tastefully pared down to refined proportions this season. Designers revealed their devotion to iconic 1960s style specs in tortoise and black, making them the most dominant style on the runway. Circular shapes are key - from true rounds to rounded squares. Thin wire frames, semi-rimless and rimless styles take a clean, minimalistic approach.

Pair these timeless frames with a tailored herringbone or houndstooth suit, slim fitting slacks or small club collar shirt.

Practical Prepster

Men won't be able to resist the tempting bold browlines, geometric shapes and alluring details that they will be faced with this season. Last season's semi-rimless frames with statement-making browlines continue to be a strong focus, while squared or angled frames, smoky or marbled hues and ombré colors prove to be awe-inspiring. Fall's charming take on tortoise will have every guy eager to release his inner prepster.

Even the self-proclaimed guy's guy will be wearing these frames with a cozy scrunched turtleneck sweater or shawl collar cardigan with slim, boot cut slacks.

Vintage Jock

This fall, vintage inspiration meets sporty styling for a look that is on point for the trendy, active male. The classic aviator has been revamped and has re-emerged on runways with that infamous ‘70s flair. Blues and whites keep it light and fresh, while tans and somber two-tones keep the vintage spirit alive. Decorative and double bridges keep frames modern, yet true to their retro roots.

Dear Dr. Smith, Jaron & Kim:

Thank you so much for making my eye exam the best eye exam I have ever had and I have worn glasses for 30+ years! I came to you on 1/25/10 and was greeted warmly by Kim, who by the way, was training someone and never made me feel like she was training someone. Dr. Smith took excellent care of me and Jaron made sure when I came back on 2/5/10 for the fitting that my glasses fit perfectly to my lopsided ears.

My last couple of eye doctors have not "listened" to me when I said I was ready for, and needed, trifocals. Dr. Smith, thank you very much for agreeing with me that I was ready - now I can see my keyboard, monitor, and work stand all in the same setting without peering over my glasses or crossing my eyes. I can also wear them when I drive and see my dashboard and oncoming traffic without having to peer over the top.

Kim, thank you for helping me pick out a frame that I love and everyone else thinks look wonderful on me, including my boyfriend (who is very hard to please)! I was teetering between two frames that looked alike and probably gone with the least expensive pair, which did not have nose pads on them, but you said they might slide too much and I would not like them. How right you were! My friend, Cat V., also agreed and after getting her glasses somewhere else, brought them to you and your office put nose pads on them and now she is very happy!

Last but certainly not least, Jaron, thank you for fitting the glasses to my off-centered ears. You took the time to make sure I looked my best. A funny side note, whenever anyone tries my glasses on, they are crooked - I don't care; they look great on me. My last pair of glasses was so off-centered; I was constantly trying to "get them right" and never could. Also, the last pair of glasses was too big and fell off almost every time I bent over to pick something up which I tried not to do often. I cannot imagine how someone thought those glasses fit me???

I would definitely recommend you to anyone and everyone and have done so. My friend, Carol R., is coming in on March 23, as she broke her glasses this morning. I am sure she will not be sorry. Again, thank you all very much and I look forward to seeing you in a year.
